On a clear day in June, Gerlinda & Hendrikus said “I do.”
Their wedding day was one filled with warmth, simplicity, and meaning – deeply rooted in their faith and surrounded by the people who matter most to them. Everything breathed peace and love. No extravagance, but pure, sincere, and real.

The day began in the heart of Kootwijkerbroek, where friends and family gathered around the old windmill – a characterful place with wooden beams, creaking floors, and views over the farmland. That very simplicity was a perfect match for Gerlinda & Hendrikus, who wanted to start their marriage in a place where God's presence felt almost tangible.

The ceremony was modest yet powerful. As sunlight streamed through the wooden slats, everyone listened intently to the words of the officiant. Gerlinda radiated in her vintage ivory dress – simple and elegant. Hendrikus, in a light blue suit, looked at her with the eyes of someone who knew with certainty: this is my home.

After the ceremony, the group moved to the church, where God’s word affirmed their union. Large white stretch tents, decorated with wildflowers, string lights, and wooden furniture, set the scene for the rest of the day. Guests enjoyed freshly baked cake and coffee served in enamel mugs, while children played in the grass and bouncy castle, and elders shared stories at long tables.

What made this day so special was that everything was prepared by hand and with heart. Family members decorated and helped serve. Young ladies played the piano and recorder. It wasn’t a show, but a community — where everyone took part and the couple stood at the center, supported by their faith and the love of those around them.

During dinner, there was laughter, shared memories, and prayers for the couple’s future. The buffet was simple but abundant. As evening fell, the yard turned into a celebration space. The tents lit up with lanterns, fire pits glowed, and the dance floor came to life. Young and old celebrated together.
